Global Chat

RTS
CTS
ETS
eCTS

Here, the administrator can enable and configure the global chat on the current server.

Global Chat Setup

  1. Enable the server’s global chat by selecting the Enabled checkbox, then specify the name, avatar, and description. If this is an
    ETS
and you need to hide the federated eXpress global chat, clear the RTS global checkbox.
  2. If users should be able to write to the global chat, select the Direct posting to global chat allowed checkbox. By default, it is cleared: the input field in the global chat is blocked for users with the message Only an admin can send messages in this chat. Note that directly sent messages are in any case visible only to their author.
  3. Click the Save button. The global chat will appear for users of the current corporate server or for users of all corporate
    eCTS
    servers connected to the
    ETS
    .
  4. In the Internal Bots section, enable the Notifications bot: click the pencil button next to it and select the Enabled checkbox.
  5. Add the Notifications bot to the list in the Global Bots subsection: select Add Bot to Global Chat and click the plus button next to Notifications bot.
  6. Add the user who should send messages to the global chat as a bot administrator: in the Internal Bots section, click the gear button next to Notifications bot and select Add bot admins.

Sending a Message to the Global Chat

The user assigned as the bot administrator can find instructions for sending messages to the global chat here.

Multiple Global Chats

Multiple global chats can appear in users' chat lists:

  • A global chat from the current corporate
    CTS
    /
    eCTS
    server (the Enabled checkbox).
  • A global chat with information from eXpress (
    RTS
    ) or a global chat from a higher-level server (
    ETS
). You can turn it off for users of the current server by clearing the Enable RTS/ETS Global Chat checkbox (this can be turned off starting from version 3.57).
