Why did Coffeemania need to look for a new messenger for the back office? Before the sanctions from foreign software developers, Coffeemania used different solutions for internal communication. We corresponded in instant messengers that were convenient for a particular employee or team, and communicated via video conference on Zoom.

Coffeemania started thinking about centralizing communications in 2023. The incentive to search for a new solution was prompted by the departure of individual software vendors from the Russian market. The company was faced with the task of finding an alternative that would meet the needs for organizing communication in compliance with increased information security standards. The solution was chosen among products from Russian developers in order to circumvent the risks associated with imports.

What were the requirements

Coffeemania established a set of requirements for the messenger that would replace Western solutions. The key was to support business communication functionality:

  • Exchange text messages and files;
  • Audio and video calls;
  • Conference calling;
  • Interface for connecting bots.

Coffeemania was looking for a multi-platform messenger with a familiar interface that could be deployed on its own. Your own server is especially critical due to the requirements of 152-FZ “On Personal Data” and the need for complete control over data. Therefore, software without a mobile version and without on-premise support was not initially considered.

Why did Coffeemania choose eXpress and what platform capabilities does it now use

eXpress, a domestic platform for organizing corporate communications, met all the requirements of Coffeemania. The transfer of the Coffeemania back office from the services it used to the internal corporate space based on eXpress took less than a month. Simultaneously with the translation, eXpress was integrated into internal business processes, thanks to which in a short period of time the platform became part of the internal corporate ecosystem of Coffeemania.

The transition from disparate foreign instant messengers to the domestic eXpress gave the Coffeemania network independence from imported developments, significantly increased the level of information security, simplified internal communications, and made it possible to centralize the exchange of information between employees.

Coffeemania uses eXpress as a corporate messenger and video conferencing platform:

  • Employees correspond in personal and group chats, send documents and files;
  • Conduct conferences, audio and video calls;
  • Call via IP telephony thanks to support for eXpress integration with digital PBX;
  • Use chatbots to simplify routine;
  • Broadcast important information through channels with controlled access, support for reactions and threads.

In the future, Coffeemania is considering deeper integration and implementation of smart apps based on eXpress.
