About the Company
PJSC VimpelCom (Beeline brand) is one of the largest telecom operators in Russia. The company is developing its own IT infrastructure and consistently implementing domestic technologies.
What problem was solved and why did they choose eXpress?
Before partnering with eXpress, the company used various services for employee communication. These did not allow it to create a unified, convenient, and secure communication environment that complies with current legislation and the corporate information security policy.
The eXpress communications platform became the technological foundation of the new solution. When selecting a platform, Beeline formulated several key requirements.
The solution had to:
- be included in the Russian Software Registry;
- support implementation within the company's own corporate environment;
- support integration with DLP, SIEM, antivirus solutions, and internal monitoring systems;
- combine corporate chats, calls, email, calendar, and internal company services in a single application;
- be able to brand the application and adapt it to Beeline's corporate style.
The eXpress platform met all requirements and allowed the solution to be built on proven domestic technology. It also ensured both a high level of security and user convenience – the intuitive interface and functions familiar from popular messengers required no additional training or lengthy onboarding.
How the implementation was implemented
The project began with a pilot in early 2025. After successful testing, Beeline and eXpress specialists began creating the Buzz corporate application based on the platform and integrating it with the customer's internal IT infrastructure.
One of the key stages was integration with the customer's own employee authorization system. To ensure seamless access to internal services, the eXpress platform's authentication mechanisms were refined. In parallel, the branded app was configured, corporate services were integrated, and the infrastructure was prepared for commercial operation.
By the end of 2025, the server infrastructure was deployed, and the first Beeline employees began using Buzz for daily work communications.
Results
Thanks to branding and customization capabilities, Beeline now has its own corporate messenger, Buzz, with corporate identity elements, its own authorization and access management system, and deep integration into the corporate infrastructure.
As of 2026, approximately 6,000 Beeline employees use Buzz. The implementation of the corporate messenger based on eXpress has made internal communications convenient and efficient: employees now have a single application for work chats, calls, and video conferencing, replacing several disparate tools. Additionally, thanks to the Federation communication protocol, employees now have the ability to securely interact with partners and contractors who also use eXpress.
The launch of Buzz is part of Beeline's strategy to develop its own digital ecosystem. In the future, the company plans to integrate all key elements of internal communications: from familiar messenger functions to a unified information space and employee personal accounts, as well as scale the solution by adding new users and a partner network.
A Joint Product for the Market
Beeline partnered with eXpress, and at the end of 2025, the companies launched a joint service: eXpress Lite – a SaaS corporate messenger for small and medium businesses. Now Beeline not only uses eXpress internally, but also connects its clients to the platform, offering them a ready-made and secure corporate communications environment.
