Andrey Vratsky 's column

Andrey Vratsky, CEO of eXpress, told CNews readers honestly, briefly and to the point about the transformation of the Russian videoconferencing market.

Market.CNews: What's new in eXpress this year?

Andrey Vratsky: Our main achievement is that we were finally able to implement truly large video conferences in our eXpress Federation: 100++ participants in each room. Previously there were no more than 30 participants. It took more than a year of hard work, this is deep technology (DeepTech), and we are the first to make large videoconferencing in the global Federation.

Market.CNews: What determines the choice of a video conferencing system and how should it be chosen?

Andrey Vratsky: We recommend an integrated approach, not “just” videoconferencing, but a solution where all daily communication is collected. What does each employee need every day, what does he use? This includes a video conference, a chat, and the ability to call a work phone. And also a single mobile application, where it would be desirable to also have mail with a calendar.

Customers have also begun to pay much more attention to security issues over the past year.

Market.CNews: Only in the last year? It seems to me that safety was one of the primary criteria before, no?

Andrey Vratsky: Security requirements for video conferencing and for remote work in general were significantly reduced during the pandemic. During the lockdown, everyone was sent home, but they had to work somehow, so there was no time for information security. Then the information security gradually returned to its positions, and well-known events gave additional impetus.
