Creating a single communication space is becoming one of the main trends in the Russian IT market. Most platforms are built on the basis of a federated protocol that ensures secure interaction both within the company and with external users. However, some customers prefer completely isolated systems limited to internal communications only.
Deputy Director of the eXpress Platform Implementation and Maintenance Department Alexander Ginzburg notes that only a few domestic solutions are able to support both models - both federated and isolated. Each of them has its own characteristics and is suitable for different business tasks.
The isolated model is designed for companies focused on maximum cybersecurity. It excludes external communications, reducing the risk of data leaks. However, its deployment requires significant costs, including installation and licensing of enterprise servers.
The federated model, on the contrary, opens up the possibility of interaction with external users, while maintaining a high level of data protection. It provides for a two-loop architecture (public and corporate loops), which allows for flexible access and security management.
